PRO-STATS Is An Official Part of
The PRO-FILE Professional File System Package
INTRODUCTORY NOTE
-----------------
Although PRO-STATS is included in the shareware version of PRO-FILE,
it is considered as a Registration Bonus only. You must register in order
to use PRO-STATS. A sample of what it can do is is provided in the file
Prostats.ans.
OVER VIEW
---------
PRO-STATS is a registration bonus included with PRO-FILE that serves
as a reporter. This reporter provides information regarding PRO-FILE by
generating a graphical and professional stats report users can view on-line
as a text file (like the PRO-FILE file lists). This report contains
information on area usage, rating percentage, totals, best & worst
categories, and even a special comic relief section.
REQUIREMENTS
------------
All you need to use this program is a computer (right?) with about 92k free
RAM, and most importantly, a registered version of PRO-FILE.
INSTALLATION
------------
PRO-STATS is a sinch to install and can be run daily as an event.
Once set up, you won't have to worry about a thing (as with all PRO-FILE
related software).
First, create a batch file called PROSTATS.Cfg and place it in your
PRO-FILE directory. This small configuration file must consist of:
1) Board name
2) Path to your RA Users file (Users.BBS). Do not include actual filename.
3) Path and filename of the output text file (the stats). Do not include
extension or trailing backslash. It will be added automatically.
Example:
The Gamer's Connection
C:\RA\Users\
C:\RA\Textfile\ProStats
Last, use RAMenu to add an option to your file menu(s) to display your
pro-stats report (textfile.)
Example:
Type 5
- - - -
Optional Datafield: ProStats
Hotkey: P
User Display: [P]ro-File Stats Report
USAGE
-----
To use PRO-STATS, just type in PROSTATS. It is recommended that you
conveniently set it up as a daily event. Using this method, everything
will be taken care of automatically. See the RA documentation for more
information on setting up an event.
To restrict certain areas from being in the report, use the control file
PROSecur.Ctl. (This may or may not exist). The format of the file is:
Area Number (Space) Security Level (Space) X
Examples:
5 1 X
25 20 X
50 35
The first and second lines would restrict areas 5 and 100 from the report.
The last line is not used by PRO-STATS but may be being used by another
PRO-FILE related utility. (PROSecur.Ctl is used in conjunction with
PRO-FILE, PRO-INFO, PROCON, and PRO-STATS)
